Wir haben uns entschieden Paihia zu verlassen und von Auckland und von dort aus Richtung Tauranga in ein Working Hostel zu fahren. In Auckland angekommen haben, stand Subway ganz oben auf unserer Liste und wir haben das Auckland Museum besucht. Die Ausstellung stellt zum großen Teil die Geschichte Neuseelands dar und beschäftigt sich viel mit der Maori Kultur. Nach 2 Tagen ging es dann mit dem Bus weiter nach Hahei, einer kleinen Stadt bei Coromandel, wo wir wieder 2 Tage Aufenthalt hatten. Nach der Ankunft ging es zum Hot Water Beach. Hier kann man 10 Meter vom Meer entfernt ein Loch im Sand graben und es füllt sich langsam mit heißem Wasser von ca. 37 Grad. Natürlich haben wir uns nicht eingecremt und einen Sonnenbrand bekommen. Am nächsten Tag sind wir dann zur Sehenswürdigkeit der Gegend, der Cathedral Cove gewandert. Dort befindet sich am Strand eine Höhle die zu einem anderen Strand führt und angeblich auch in Narnia zu finden ist. Am darauf folgenden Tag sind wir weiter nach Hamilton gefahren. Die Stadt ist alles andere als schön und war bis auf den Kinobesuch keinen Besuch wert, außerdem ist unserer Hostel ist mehr ein Kellerverschlag aber morgen geht es geht endlich weiter.
We decided to leave Paihia and take the bus back to Auckland and then travel to Tauranga where we hope to find a place to work at a working hostel. When we arrived in Auckland we first went to Subway and also the Auckland museum. The exhibition mainly shows the history of New Zealand and the Maori culture. One day later we took the bus to the town of Hahei next to Coromandel where we stayed for two days. First we drove to Hot Water Beach where you can dig a hole in the sand that slowly gets full of hot water right next to the cold sea. Of course we didn’t use sun screen and both got a sunburn. The next day we walked to Cathedral Cove which is a cave that connects two beaches and can also be found in Narnia. Then we took the bus to Hamilton, a city that isn’t beautiful and besides our trip to the cinema not worth to be seen. We also wouldn’t recommend our hostel which was nothing more than some dirty rooms in the basement of a building but we will leave soon.
