Weg vom Gletscher geht es vorbei an Wasserfällen, glasklaren Seen und natürlich immer an der Westküste entlang. Die Gewässer auf der Südinsel sehen alles andere als natürlich aus und untermalt mit den Wasserfällen glaubt man beinahe im Film zu sein. Der nächste Halt ist Wanka am gleichnamigen See. Mein Plan war eigentlich in der Stadt für 3 Nächte mit Anna und Vivi zu bleiben, dass jedoch ein Energy Drink mir das kaputt macht hätte niemand gedacht. Red Bull veranstaltete an dem Wochenende unseres Aufenthalts ein Downhill Event, auf Grund dessen alle Hostels, Hotels und sogar Airbnb’s ausgebucht waren. Abends waren wir drei ziemlich verzweifelt, da wir nicht wussten wo wir die kommenden 2 Nächte schlafen werden. Da ich die Südinsel nur noch im Schnelltempo sehen möchte, da diese leider meinem Portemonnaie nicht zusagt, entschied ich mich nach der bereits gebuchten Nacht weiter nach Queenstown zu fahren. Anna und Vivi hatten Glück für die nächste Nacht doch noch ein Hostel gefunden zu haben, jedoch mussten sie die dritte und letzte Nacht mit dem Schlafsack im Park. Wie mir berichtet wurde sogar sehr angenehm, bis um vier Uhr morgens die Sprinkler angingen. Als weitere gute Nachricht: Ich habe meinen Rückflug endlich gebucht. Am 22. März geht es zunächst nach Hongkong und am 24. März mit dem letzten Cathay Pacific Flug nach Düsseldorf.

The next stop is Wanaka at the Lake Wanaka. My plan was to spend three nights with Anna and Vivi in the city, but I never thought an energy drink will ruin my stay. Red Bull was hosting a downhill event which let to a completely booked out city. We were really stressed in the evening not knowing where we will spend the next two nights. In fact I want to travel all over the south island in a very short time due to the fact my wallet is not a huge fan of the south I decided to travel on after my pre-booked night in Wanaka and head to Queenstown. Anna and Vivi luckily found a hostel for the next night but had to spent the third and last night in the park with their sleeping bags. Later they told me it was pretty comfy until four o’clock when the sprinklers turned on. Good news everyone! Finally I booked my flight home for 22th march to Hongkong and with the last official flight of Cathay Pacific to Düsseldorf on 24th march back home.
