Nachdem ich nun die Südinsel komplett innerhalb eines Monats erkundet habe und zusammen mit Anna und Vivi mit der Fähre wieder auf die Nordinsel übergesetzt habe, blieben wir die nächsten drei Nächte in Wellington um zum einen nicht ständig nur im Bus zu sitzen und zum zweiten um die Stadt weiter zu erkunden. Nach dem Ausschlafen haben wir uns auf den Weg zum Botanischen Garten gemacht und die Aussicht vom höchsten Gebäude der Stadt genossen. Außerdem war des der Nationalfeiertag „Waitangi Day“ an dem die Gründung Neuseelands gefeiert wird. Aus diesem Grund haben wir mit vielen anderen auf der Festwiese der Hauptstadt den Konzerten zugehört. Am nächsten Tag stand dann Shoppen ohne kaufen auf dem Plan. Eine hervorragende Art den Spaß des Einkaufens ohne die Sorgen des Geldverlusts zu haben. Am Abend haben wir uns dann dazu entschlossen auf den Mount Victoria zu laufen, jedoch ein Uber genommen da wir nicht laufen wollten. Augenscheinlich haben wir uns für einen hervorragenden Abend entschieden, da die Aussicht einmalig war.
After exploring the South Island completely within a month and traveling with the ferry back to the North Island with Anna and Vivi, we stayed in Wellington for the next three nights, not only because we were tired of sitting in the bus but also to explore the city even further. After getting up we made our way to the botanical garden and enjoyed the view from the tallest building in the city. It was also the national holiday „Waitangi Day“ on which the founding of New Zealand is celebrated. For this reason, we have listened to many concerts on the festival grounds of the capital. The next day was shopping without buying on the plan. An excellent way to have the fun of shopping without the worries of losing money. In the evening we decided to walk to Mount Victoria, but took an Uber because we did not want to walk up the Mount. Apparently we chose the perfect day due to the amazing view and the weather.
