Bevor ich euch von meinen Flügen nach Hause berichte, nehme ich euch zuerst mit nach Hongkong. Die Stadt ist mein Zwischenstop, da es keine kein Flugzeug gibt, das von Neuseeland nonstop nach Deutschland fliegt und weil dies die Home Base von Cathay Pacific ist. Nach meiner Landung ging es sehr schnell den Flughafen zu verlassen, da mein Gepäck bis Düsseldorf durchgecheckt wurde. Mit dem Airport Express ging es zur Haupt-Metrostation im ifc-Center von der Stadt, von wo aus ich mich zu Fuß zum Wasser begeben habe. Das Frühstück im Flugzeug war hervorragend also gab es für mich erst Mittagessen am Victoria Peak. Diesen Aussichtspunkt habe ich über die wohl überfüllteste Cable Car der Welt erreicht. Oben angekommen im Konsum-Tempel der Stadt erwarteten mich zwei Shopping Malls und das obligatorische Hard Rock Cafe T-Shirt. Zum Nachmittag habe ich mit Marie verabredet, die eine Woche vor mir geflogen ist und einen Freund in China besucht hat. Nach einigen gescheiterten Versuchen eine ruhigeren Ort zu finden für einen Kaffee fuhren wir zum Flughafen zurück und haben uns für die restlichen 8 Stunden in eine Lounge eingebucht und auf sechs Monate Neuseeland angestoßen.
Before I tell you about my flights home, I’ll take you to Hong Kong first. The city is my stopover, as there is no aircraft that flies nonstop from New Zealand to Germany and because this is the home base of Cathay Pacific. After landing, I quickly left the airport, because my luggage was checked through to Dusseldorf. With the Airport Express I drove to the main metro station in the ifc-center of the city, from where I walked to the water front. The breakfast on the plane was excellent so for me it was only lunch at Victoria Peak. I have reached this viewing point via the world’s busiest cable car. Arrived at the consumption temple in the city, two shopping malls and the obligatory Hard Rock Cafe T-Shirt awaited me. In the afternoon, I met with Marie, who left New Zealand one week prior me and visited a friend in China. After some failed attempts to find a quieter place for a coffee, we drove back to the airport and booked into a lounge for the remaining 8 hours and had a beer to celebrate our six months in New Zealand.
